A journal of my favourite pastimes gardening, farming and sewing.

With the warmer days of spring, and after some welcome rain, new additions to the garden are starting to show their colours.

Of all the hippeastrum bulbs we had put in, only one has performed so far. Obviously the position is just right. So, in due course as many of the others will be put in nearby. It would be a shame to miss out on all the other lovely colours.
White Hoya

This one was a pick up from a former resident at the retirement village. They left it behind when they left, so it came home with me. I didn't know hoyas were white as well as pink, having only seen the pink ones. They are very waxy, almost feeling like plastic. And the flowers last quite a long time. It now lives in a hanging basket under one of the poinciana trees in the back.
