A Cracking Winter's Day

We are so very fortunate to live here, even in winter our temps are in double figures and it is usually sunny.  While it gets cold at night, the days are glorious.

No doubt it will be a different scene when we head down to Tasmania in 2 weeks.  Temps there are much lower.

There is not much flowering in our garden at the moment.  Other houses around town have lovely grevilleas flowering but we don't have success with them here.  Callistemon and lilly pilly are much better for us as we have the heavy black soil clay.  We have had some very nice flowering of the callistemons in particular and of course they are very popular with the birdlife.  We recently bought some more tubestock from Mole River Station nursery http://www.molerivernursery.com/ when we attended ttp://www.farmonline.com.au/ earlier this month - we have been every year since we moved here in 2009.  Always a great, if tiring day.

  1. Barb, unfortunately to get a lovely day with blue skies we seem to have to get through the frosty mornings first. Brrr! It looks like the rain will be back for a couple of days soon so it should get a bit warmer. You have lovely clear skies in those photos.
