Scenic Rim 4 Real Milk

We have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Scenic Rim 4 Real milk which is produced right here in the Scenic Rim by a brave family who are fighting back against the demise of the family dairy farm.

So, the product hit the shops last week and interest has been high.  We finally got our hands on some of the milk late last week and I can say, we think it is delicious.  The milk is pasteurised but not homogenised and the result is a fully bodied, creamy milk, just like when we were kids.  Peter said his first taste took him back to the parade ground at primary school when we had the small glass bottles from the steel crates.

At the moment only full cream is available - in a 2 litre plastic bottle and a 750ml glass bottle - but they also expect to produce low fat milk in the future.  Whilst we have not regularly bought the $2 milk available at the supermarkets, we are definitely proud to be supporting our local farmers.

  1. That is great news, Barb. I feel so sorry for our dairy farmers and won't buy the cheap milk either. While here on the coast I have bought the milk from the Maleny Dairy that Rhonda supports and I feel like I am helping the cause of our dairy farmers a little.
